How to get started as a Global Focus® Undergrad partner school…
Contact CSO Sales to learn more about becoming a partner school (firstname.lastname@example.org or 866-705-4201 x 2).
Once you determine you’d like to become a partner school, these next steps will be required:
- Provide your candidate data (first name, last name, email address, and optionally, major and grad date) and school branding (logo and colors) for the Global Focus® Undergrad registration system.
- Provide a “From” email address for candidate communication and administrative login.
- Place the Global Focus® Undergrad URL on your CSO System’s student home page.
Interview with Matt: The CSO Research/MBA Focus Merger
Amidst the excitement there have been a lot of questions around our merger with MBA Focus. Earlier this month, we sat down with Matt to get his responses to the most commonly asked questions about the merger. Following is a summary of that interview:
What’s the plan?
That’s a big question!
During the remainder of 2015 we will be creating the roadmap for bringing MBA Focus and CSO together. This encompasses our new name, an analysis of our products and services, a review of our hosting environments, as well as standardization of our internal policies and procedures including IT support, HR and benefits.
In the short term, it’s business as usual for our clients and everyone in our Austin, Texas and Columbus, Ohio offices.
As we get into 2016, we will have a clearly defined roadmap for moving forward as one company offering our core products and services.
What’s going to change?
In the short term, we will be introducing some exciting new services to CSO and MBA Focus clients in addition to our existing array of software and services.
In the long-term, we are identifying the best way to connect and support all of the 1000+ campuses, 1.4 million students and 2000+ employers we serve. These upcoming enhancements to our shared technologies are central to our goal of becoming the undisputed leader in career services and recruiting technology and client support.
Our name will be changing soon, and our website, email addresses, logo, etc. will reflect this change.
What’s not going to change?
Our shared commitment to service, trust, leadership, technology, innovation and hard work won’t change. This commitment to our shared core values will continue to be central to all we do to serve you, your students and employers.
We will maintain our offices in Columbus, Ohio and Austin, Texas. (We just signed a new three-year lease for our Austin offices!)
Who will I talk to?
The same teams are still in place, so continue to reach out via chat, email or phone to connect with us. Along the way, you’ll be meeting great new team members as well.
How is this going to work?
It’s going to work well!
We have great leadership and staff and we’re excited to move forward together to provide our clients with excellent software and support. Our goal is to make the transition as seamless as possible for our clients and team members.
How do you feel about the merger personally?
I feel great about it.
When I came to CSO over three years ago, I wanted to help grow the company and help it become more nimble in meeting the needs of career centers, students and employers. We’ve come a long way in three years, and the merger will allow us to accelerate our ability to meet those needs. It’s going to be fun!
What’s your new name?
I can’t tell you quite yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing it with you in an upcoming announcement!
Updates to the My Connections Page for Students
Today’s students want convenient options for exploring and pursuing career opportunities, and we’re proud to partner with organizations offering services and features your students can use directly through your CSO System.
New options and a new look on the My Connections page
The My Connections page of the CSO System has been redesigned to be more intuitive and easy to navigate so your students can quickly connect with our partners’ valuable career resources:
Get to know the partners featured on the My Connections page:
Internships.com – provides access to more than 21,000 internship opportunities from across the U.S. and around the world as well as the Internship Predictor tool.
CollegeRecruiter – offers career exploration/job search resources and information specifically for college students and new graduates.
Indeed – the world’s #1 job site, with over 180 million unique visitors every month from over 50 different countries.
Snagajob (coming soon!) – the #1 source for hourly employment and a great resource for students working their way through school.
Where is the “Who?” button link to Facebook that previously appeared on the My Connections page?
Unfortunately, the organization that developed and supported the Who? button has discontinued it. As a result, it will no longer be available on the My Connections dashboard.
What about LinkedIn?
Recent changes to LinkedIn’s business use standards for software system integrations resulted in the retirement of our existing integration. Our technology team is currently evaluating LinkedIn’s new standards for acceptable integration and hope to establish a new LinkedIn connection in the future.
